Privacy policy
Effective November 6, 2026
Mistflower Crossing is made by one person, Sara Duniphin, in Garland, Texas. This page explains what mistflowercrossing.com collects, why, and what you can do about it.
What this site collects
Analytics. I use Google Analytics to see which pages people read, how they found the site (a link or a search), roughly where they are (country, region or city, worked out from the IP address) and what kind of device and browser they use. Google Analytics sets cookies named _ga and _ga_ plus an ID, which last up to two years, so it can tell a return visit from a new one. I look at this data only as totals and trends. Google uses the data under the Google Privacy Policy. I don't sell your information.
Newsletter. If you sign up, the email address (and first name, if you give one) goes to Kit, the service that sends my newsletter. Kit's sign-up form may set its own cookies. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
Devlog comments. If you comment on a devlog post, the name and comment you type are stored on this site's server and shown on the page once I have read and approved them. An email address is optional, is never shown, and is only used if I need to reply to you directly. To stop automated spam, a scrambled version of your connection address is kept for ten minutes and then discarded; it is not stored with your comment. Email me to have a comment removed.
Videos. The gameplay video on the home page is embedded from YouTube in its privacy-enhanced mode, which means YouTube doesn't set cookies until you press play. Once you do, YouTube's own privacy policy applies.
Email. If you write to me, I keep your message so I can reply.
Server logs. My web host, DreamHost, keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser and the pages requested) for security and troubleshooting.
What happens elsewhere
This site has no accounts and takes no payments. Downloads and the itch.io devlog live on itch.io under its own privacy policy. Links to Bluesky, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Tumblr and YouTube take you to those services, which have their own policies.
Your choices
The cookie bar. Choose Accept or Decline. If you're in the UK, the EU, the EEA or Switzerland, analytics cookies stay off until you accept. Everywhere else they're on unless you decline. You can change your answer any time with Cookie settings, also at the bottom of every page.
Global Privacy Control. If your browser sends this signal, the site treats it as a decline.
Google's opt-out. The Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on blocks Google Analytics on every site you visit.
Ask me. Email hello@mistflowercrossing.com to ask what I have about you, or to have it corrected or deleted. I'll answer within 45 days.
Who gets your information
Only the services named above: Google (analytics and YouTube), Kit (newsletter) and DreamHost (hosting, including devlog comments). I don't sell or rent personal information to anyone.
Children
This site is meant for adults and isn't directed to children under 13. I don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If this policy changes, I'll update it here and change the date at the top.
